Service Description
PURPOSE: This course is specifically designed for the new shotgun owner who would like to explore the shotgun as a defensive tool. This course is focused on the a shotguns application in defensive scenarios, NOT towards a shotgun's application for sport, hunting, skeet, or trap shooting. Students have constantly stated, "This is the course that surprised me the most of how much I didn't previously know." OUTLINE: This introductory course provides students with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to safely handle, load, fire and unload a pump action and semi-automatic shotguns. Range command will include: Firing Stance; The Three Secrets; Carry Positions; Patterning; Offhand, Kneeling, Prone; Target Engagement from 7-25 yards under Time Pressure; Multiple Targets; Tactical Reloading; Emergency Reloading, Select Slug Drill with Firing out to 50 Yards; Malfunction Clearances; Tactical Movement; a Tactical Simulation using Reactive Steel Targets and Shoot/No Shoot Targets AMMO COUNT: Birdshot (#7 or 8) - 75 rounds 00 Buckshot- 25 rounds Slugs- 25 rounds EQUIPTMENT LIST: -Firearm. Recommended calibers, 12ga or 20ga. and MUST have an attached sling. -2-3 Magazines. - Shell caddies or side saddles are HIGHLY recommended. Magazine pouch(s). Will be worn on belt on opposite side of firearm. -Electronic Hearing Protection. -Wraparound eyewear, polycarbonate lenses or non-shattering prescription glasses. -Clothing should be suitable for training in any weather, pants MUST have belt loops. A sturdy belt for mag pouch to attach to. Closed toed shoes. Hat with brim. -Knee and elbow pads recommended -Speed loader (optional) -Water bottle and sack lunch. -Classes are held on an outside range. Check weather reports and dress accordingly. PREREQUISITES: None. SCHEDULE: 7:50-8:00: Check in. Weapon and ammo inspection. If you are late, you will not be able to attend the remainder of the course due to safety precautions and will contacted to reschedule for another day. -8:00-12:00: Range activities -12:00-12:30: Lunch -12:30-1:00 : Lunch lecture. -1:00-4:00: Range activities

Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel a class more than 30 days before your scheduled class date, you may cancel and request a refund of the purchase price. Cancelation occurring 15-30 days before the start date of your course will be allotted a refund of 50% of the original purchase price. Classes cannot be cancelled less than 2 weeks (14 days) before your scheduled class date and a refund WILL NOT be given. Exceptions to these policies may be made on a case-by-case basis, at the sole discretion of the Director of Worth A Shot and must be put in writing. Worth A Shot reserves the right to change or amend these policies at any time.
